What is the Survivors' Memorial Fund?

Tragically, each and every year, in the State of California, ten to twenty law enforcement officers lose their lives in the line of duty. The survivors of our fallen officers have informed us that the family's immediate financial need is for funds to cover food, travel, lodging and burial expenses. Insurance and pensions are not received until many months after the death of their loved one.

Due to the unforeseen expenses resulting from the untimely loss of a law enforcement loved one, the California Narcotic Officer's Association has established a "Survivors Memorial Fund" to help subsidize these expenses. It is our opinion that this immediate financial assistance is vital to the well being of the family members during the shocking first days following the death of an officer.

The next time you watch television or listen to the radio and learn that a police officer has been killed, this Memorial Fund will already be in the process of making an immediate contribution to the family. Since its inception, the Fund has assisted more than 124 families in their time of need.

The California Narcotic Officers' Association is comprised of over 7,000 peace officers in the State of California. CNOA, a non-profit organization, administers the only Memorial Fund that provides immediate financial assistance (within 48 hrs) to the families of all California law enforcement officers who have unselfishly sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Thank You.

Now you can donate your old cars or cellular phones and make a difference. Through our donation programs you can support the Survivors Memorial Fund or the Narcotic Educational Foundation of America.

Donate your used car, truck, boat or RV to the California Narcotic Officers' Association and we'll arrange to have it picked up free of charge. We accept most vehicles, even if they don't run. Some restrictions may apply on older vehicles, though. It's easy and convenient, and you'll be eligible for a tax deduction as well!

Why donate my vehicle?

It's much easier to donate your used vehicle than it is to sell it yourself. And the tax savings might even be more than what you would receive from a trade in. You'll be spared the ordeal of selling your vehicle.

How to make a car donation

Donating is easy! You can fill out our online form, or call California Narcotic Officers' Association at: (877) 775-NARC

Donate Your Old Cellular Phones to CNOA

We have entered into an interesting program, it's called Phone Recycling, and it allows us to raise funds for the Survivors Memorial Fund by collecting used wireless phones. The phones are recycled, with a portion of the proceeds going to the SMF. With an estimated 30 million inactive cell phones out there, the potential is tremendous.

Each of these unused phones contains hazardous waste that is harmful for the environment. By donating your phone, you help the SMF, you help the environment and receive a tax deduction for the value of the phone.

If your agency has a bunch of old phones lying around, this is a great way to properly dispose of them, and raise money for a very worthy cause.

How to make a Cellular Phone Donation
Phones will be collected at all CNOA Regional and State functions. Contact your Regional Chairperson or CNOA Office for additional information.
